The board is a self-supporting agency and receives no General Fund tax appropriation. It is funded entirely through fees assessed for licensing its institutions.

Meetings
The Kentucky State Board for Proprietary Education meets on a monthly basis at the Office of Occupations and Professions, 911 Leawood Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601. Meetings begin at 9 a.m.
All applications for program changes or approvals must be submitted to the Board 10 business days prior to the meeting. All school applications must be submitted to the board 30 business days prior to the next meeting date.
All meetings are open to the public.
